New York Steakhouse
Annie: I gotta say, all the great reviews about New York Steakhouse on the internet are true and legit. The food was pretty much excellent and the service, oh the service, was beyond expectation. It was one of the most personalised service experiences I’ve ever received in any kind of restaurant. Only if it wasn’t so expensive i would love to go back again soon.
Sanne: Bo.lan is one of the brightest stars on the Bangkok dining scene, but even though the food is top notch and the location is gorgeous, the atmosphere is very relaxed and down to earth. The set menus consist of a number of small dishes, which are served in groups of starters, mains and desserts. Thai cuisine relies heavily on the freshness and high quality of the ingredients and Bo.lan works with local farmers to source the very best ingredients for their menu. The result is stunning, sexy Thai food.
Annie: Gaggan, asia’s number one restaurant, is definitely not the stereotypical indian-as-you-know-it. You enter a stunning whitewashed colonial style wooden house where it makes you feel at home (despite the fact that you can’t help but feel a little uncomfortable with the bill that is soon to come your way). I’d say that the emphasis is on experience over food. But i mean at least I get to tick off dining at asia’ number one restaurant, right?
Annie: searching for some casual fine dining in bangkok without breaking your bank? i got one right here for you.
with the celebration of their sixteenth birthday this year, when it comes to bangkok’s dining scene, Eat Me is probably the veteran of all. i’d say if you’re looking for a place to take your girl (or a guy) on a fancy date night.
Sanne: Eat Me is also one of my all-time favorite restaurants in Bangkok. I stumbled upon it by coincidence, when I was seeking shelter from a thunderstorm one evening back in 2011, and I’ve been back many times since then. The menu is a mix of international dishes, some of them with a touch of Thailand, others true to their origins. It changes on a regular basis, so whenever I’m back at EAT ME, there’s usually a whole new range of dishes to choose among.
