I’ve recently discovered the joys of cooking through the slow cooker, or a crock pot, as some of you might call it. You just throw in the ingredients, turn it on and wait for the magic to happen.
One of my favorite recipes that is so quick and super tasty, is a chicken in a white wine sauce over some basmati rice. It doesn’t take more than 10 minutes to prepare, and it tastes amazing.
Here’s what you need for 2-3 persons:
3 drumsticks and 3 chicken thighs (or breasts)
1 tsp thyme
5 minced garlic cloves
1 diced medium onion
1 cup cooking white wine
1 cup chicken stock
3 tbsp. white flour
Put the drumsticks and the chicken thighs into the slow cooker.
Throw in a teaspoon of salt, thyme and rosemary; 5 minced garlic cloves; and one medium diced onion.
Whisk one cup of white cooking wine, one cup of chicken stock and 3 tablespoons of white flour.
Add into the cooker and cook on high for 3.15 hours or on low for 6-7 hours.
An hour or 45 minutes before it’s done, I will throw in some carrots, but that’s optional.
Serve with basmati rice
