Sometimes your trip goes easy as a breeze, while at other times, you end up next to one of those persons, who makes you want to scream out loud in frustration. Here are some of the things, which bother us the most, along with our advice to our fellow passengers on how to make it a smooth ride for everyone.
Julia from SweetEscapes.net: I’d say I’m a very patient traveler but what really annoys me are passengers that jump right off their seats after landing although EVERY time they make the same announcement that you should remain seated until parking position. I don’t know what’s so hard to understand about that. In general it irritates me when passengers ignore crew announcements or behave rude and/or disrespectful towards flight attendants. I always wonder if these people are flying for the first time or what? Do they think they’re somewhat better? You see I’m getting quite upset
Therefore my only advice is to bring a lot of patience and tolerance. Sometimes I feel humans are showing their real (ugly) side when they’re in a plane…
Julie from JewelsWandering.com: Traveling is a massive part of my life. For the most part, it goes smoothly but there is nothing worse then someone kicking the back of your chair the whole flight. Not to shame parents, but it usually is a kid!
Angela from PinaySkattebasse.com: I don’t mind noisy people during short flights. But if I am flying more than 8 hours with bunch of noisy people, that would be a problem. On our flight to Cancun, there were this group of friends in their 30’s, who were drinking spirits and really annoyed other passengers. The captain had to interfere. For noisy passengers and/or crying babies – earplugs are good plus a kindle to read.
Sofia from papayaPieces.com: What annoys me the most about other airline passengers is when they are not respectful to those around them. I have been highly annoyed in cases such as:
- People butting in the boarding queue. I know the plane won’t leave until we’re all on it, but it’s still rude to do it.
- People that do things to compromise our security. Once as I was getting through the security controls, just as my bag was just about to go through the security machine, some random guy emptied out the contents of his pockets and dumped them on and in (because the zip was half open) my bag! Can you believe it? What if he had something to compromise my or others’ security? I was having a bad day so I kicked up a huge stink.
- People that are noisy and complain about menial issues, over and over again throughout the flight, even when the crew and everyone tells them to be quiet.
My advice to fellow travellers would be to be respectful to others. Practice good manners, be respectful of everybody’s personal space, and tone down your volume. Maybe someone around you is ill or has an awful headache and wants some silence. Maybe someone around you has only slept 3 hours before boarding and will have to be in tip-top shape for a business presentation after landing. Be respectful and nice, those around you will have a nicer journey, and so will you:)
